The Denver Civil Service Commission and the City and County of Denver Fire Department is building an eligibility list for the 2025 Entry-Level Firefighter academy.
All candidates must first complete an application with the City and County of Denver in Workday and also take the FireTeam exam through National Testing Network (NTN).
Please make sure the name you use to fill out this application matches what you inputted on NTN. If you have used any other name while signing up for testing, please contact CSCInfo@denvergov.org.
All candidates will need to test by February 24, 2025 at 5pm (MST).

Department Overview :

Responsibilities :
Under supervision, firefighters respond to fire alarms with assigned company and assist in extinguishing fires in the protection of lives and property; assist in cleaning and caring for apparatus, equipment and quarters; administer first aid treatment; assist in rescue work in various emergencies; and inspect buildings for fire hazards and compliance with fire prevention ordinances. At various points in their careers, firefighters may also be assigned to work in support divisions such as, but not limited to, human resources, fire dispatch, or fire prevention. Salary & Benefits : Pay and benefits for Denver Firefighters are determined by collective bargaining agreements between the City and County of Denver and local union officials. Generally, collective bargaining agreements are established for three-year increments. For 2023 :

Hiring Process :
1. Complete Initial Application
You must first submit an application with the Denver Civil Service Commission. Upon completing the initial Workday application, if you do not immediately receive a disqualifying notification, you may schedule your NTN test. If you are notified via email that you do NOT meet the minimum qualifications, you may email the Denver Civil Service Commission to learn further details at CSCInfo@denvergov.org.
2. Testing
Once your application has been submitted AND if you do not receive a disqualifying notification immediately after completion, you may schedule to take the FireTeam Test with the National

You will need to establish an account with NTN. After the first exam (paid by the City of Denver), here is a required fee to take the FireTeam Test. For information about Fee Waivers please contact NTN Candidate Support support@nationaltestingnetwork.com.
There are four components to the FireTeam test :
1. a video-based human relations test
2. a mechanical aptitude test
3. a math test
4. a reading test
Testing takes approximately 2 1 / 2 hours. Upon completion of the testing period, the Denver Civil Service Commission will review candidate test scores and notify those who are eligible to continue with processing. The Denver Civil Service Commission will also notify candidates who are not eligible to continue at this time.
