What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The full salary range for this position is $67,161 - $110,816, with a hiring range of $71,000 - $88,988. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Denver Human Services works to protect Denver's children, youth, adults, and at-risk adults by providing services and advocacy while promoting family stability, respecting diversity, and working to create and strengthen connections to community resources. We work to prevent abuse by providing education, resources, and support to parents, families, and community organizations.
Denver Human Services is seeking a committed, passionate Lead Social Case Worker to work in our Adult Protective Services Division. The Denver Adult Protective Services team investigates allegations of mistreatment for at-risk adults 18 years and older. This team provides ongoing case management services and coordinates resources and services with various community providers. We are excited to include a Lead worker on our passionate team of people who want to provide a valuable service to the community.
Overall, the Adult Protective Services Lead Social Case Worker will:
- Participate in, gives advice, and consults with team members on unusual, difficult, or complex cases
- Train new team members in social work techniques and methodologies, orients workers with appropriate laws, policies, regulations, and procedures, and ensures that work conforms to standards, regulations, and laws of state and federal agencies
- Assist the supervisor formulate planning initiatives, objectives, procedures, and guidelines for the assigned area
- Develop or modifies work plans, methods, and procedures and determines work priorities and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage
- Provide work instruction and assists employees with difficult and/or unusual assignments. Assigns and distributes work, reviews work for accuracy and completeness, and returns assignments with recommendations for proper completion
- Resolve problems encountered during daily operations and determines appropriate solutions
- Contribute to the development of performance goals, documents performance, provides performance feedback, and provides information to inform the formal performance evaluation
- Document situations which may be cause for disciplinary action and provides this information to the supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Experience with providing Adult Protection services
- Strong organizational skills
- Superior critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated communication and writing skills
- A positive, professional, and proactive attitude
- Certification from the Colorado Child Welfare of Adult Protective Services Academy
- Extensive experience with Adult Protection in a County level environment
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education requirement: Requirements as set forth in Colorado Department of Human Services Volume 7 and/or Volume 30 regulations
- Experience Requirement: Requirements as set forth in Colorado Department of Human Services Volume 7 and/or Volume 30 regulations. Three (3) years of post-graduation professional social case work experience at the type and level of Social Case Worker
- Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements
- Licensure: Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Requires certification as a social case worker in Child Welfare or Adult Protective Services in accordance with CDHS regulations. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
