What We Offer

Location:

This position will follow a hybrid schedule that includes three days/week in the office located at Denver International Airport.

What You'll Do:

Denver International Airport (DEN) is currently seeking an Airport Commercial Manager to join the Concessions Department. The Airport Commercial Manager will oversee concessions from concept to the opening along with supervising a staff of Contract Administrators. In this role we are looking for a strategic leader to develop and implement the Concession Strategic Plan in support of Denver International Airport's (DEN) overall business plan and strategic goals in collaboration with the leadership team. This individual will collaborate with the Commerce Hub, airlines, and concessionaires to deliver and maximize customer experience to all who visit and work at Denver International Airport.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Support the implementation of the Concession Master Plan and Opportunities on the concourses to support the achievement of the overall airport operation objectives
  • Develop, support, and facilitate current and future concession opportunities in food and beverage, retail and other passenger services or businesses on an identified concourse
  • Acts as liaison between concessionaires and airport personnel on decisions for store locations, marketing, and maintenance. Also serves as liaison between concessionaires and Finance
  • Collaborate to identify and support key competencies and key performance indicators (KPI) which successfully drive the concession program at DEN.
  • Support concession program activities including Request for Proposal development, outreach, and managing the initial contracting process
  • Acts as liaison between tenant finish group and concessionaire to ensure development deadlines are met
  • Support the Concessions Master Plan strategy by working closely with other concourse teams to ensure consistency across the program
  • Review leases and contracts with concessionaires to ensure compliance with terms and conditions while ensuring a business-friendly operating environment
  • Ensures a business-friendly operating environment with clear expectations for tenants, business partners and staff
  • Collaborate with leadership to support processes and plans to respond to the dynamic daily environment of a major, international airport
  • Coach, mentor and support concourse team. Champion continuous improvement and provide training and development opportunities
  • Manage complex customer, tenant and contractor issues
  • Assist with financial and business planning and analysis, including strategies to meet business needs of the Concessions program
  • Prepare and present reports to leadership relating to areas of responsibility

We are looking for someone with some or all of the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years of experience including budget, process, policy, negotiation, and decision-making experience
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the food & beverage industry.
  • Demonstrated (proven) leadership skills managing professional and technical level staff
  • Experience with business process improvement activities
  • Experience in driving an organization to achieve measurable results through continuous improvement
  • Decision making experience including planning and organizing multiple programs, projects and operations simultaneously
  • Provide strong written and verbal communication skills


Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included management of professional individual contributors.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
