What We Offer
NOTE: This is a time limited position with an expected end date of 12/31/2025 and the potential to be extended.
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. While the full pay range of this position is $ 22.76 - $34.14 hourly, our target hiring salary for this position is between $22.76 -$28.45 hourly, depending on education, experience and qualifications.

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at the Denver Human Services East Building (3815 Steele St. Denver, C0 80205) several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work 3 days in office and offsite 2 days a week. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

Our employees help children, older adults, families, and individuals navigate social and economic pressures by connecting them to services and experts who support their overall well-being. Through our Economic Resilience (ER) Division, Denver Human Services seeks to engage residents in strengthening economic well-being and mobility across their lifespan. By leveraging the resources of Denver Human Services’ programs and a network of community partnerships, Economic Resilience provides a holistic approach to service delivery in order to assist customers in the ability to foresee crisis as well as adapt to and leverage changing life conditions to their advantage. The Economic Resilience Division is comprised of the following program areas: General Assistance, Burial Assistance, SNAP to Success (Formerly Employment First), Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), RTD Live, Trash Rebate Program, Property Tax Relief, Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) and Colorado Works.
Specifically, the Colorado Works Case Manager will engage with Colorado Works participants in a continuum of employment centered services which include :
- Facilitating individual and family assessments that help identify strengths and barriers to employment success
- Identifying short and long-term goals that are specific and attainable and provide a path off of public assistance
- Developing collaborative individual plans with the customer that takes family needs into consideration
- Supporting the customer's circumstances and choices and offering them information about agency and community-based resources
- Monitoring customer progress by acknowledging and celebrating their success
- Coordinating with staff to provide initial and ongoing financial eligibility for program benefits when necessary

- Excellent soft skills in motivational interviewing, organizing, planning, and monitoring customer progress
- The ability to work effectively with other employees, agencies, and the public
- Exceptional communication (oral, written) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Experience with the Colorado Benefits Management System- CBMS and Denver's Work Management System (WMS)
- Experience with the Colorado Works program or working with vulnerable populations
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing intake including assessing and identifying client strengths and needs and providing referrals for assistance.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
