What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hiring range for this position is $58,656 – $66,981 / year based on education and experience. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to :

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days. In this position you can expect to work in-person 3 days per week with occasional evening events based on operational needs.
What You'll Do
The Office of Councilmember Shontel Lewis, representing City Council District 8, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communications and Marketing professional. This is a full-time, at-will position that requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends as needed.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. This individual will demonstrate a strong work ethic, the capacity to manage multiple priorities, and the flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment. This role encompasses key responsibilities in communications, event and project coordination, constituent services, and administrative support.
The Communications and Marketing Staff member for City Council District 8 will demonstrate strong time management, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and the leadership skills necessary to excel in the following areas :
Create, develop, and manage marketing content across various platforms, including social media, online channels, print materials, newsletters, direct mail, and other multimedia formats
Prepare presentations and visual materials for both internal staff use and for the Councilwoman
Plan, coordinate, and attend community events; promote public engagement opportunities
Develop and execute communication and marketing campaigns
Draft and distribute press releases and media advisories to local media outlets, newsrooms, and respond to public inquiries
Oversee and edit visual content, including photography and video production, for informational, promotional, and creative purposes
Write, edit, and publish content for digital platforms, including websites, videos, social media, and email campaigns
Optimize social media content for search engine visibility and audience engagement
Produce engaging, informative, and inspiring content across multiple digital platforms to enhance community outreach
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Councilmember or management

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement : Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
Experience Requirement : None
Education / Experience Equivalency : One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
