The Department of Safety, Community Corrections Division is seeking a Pretrial Officer II to join our team.
This Pretrial Officer II position is with the Community Corrections Division-Pretrial Services & Electronic Monitoring Program. The Community Corrections Division (CCD) is an agency within the Department of Safety. The agency administers alternative to incarceration programs including pretrial services, in home detention, and residential community corrections. The CCD has a diverse and dedicated staff committed to enhancing public safety and working with the community and other criminal justice agencies.
Candidates will be expected to work non traditional working hours which will include evenings, overnights and or/weekend hours.
Successful candidates must complete and pass a background investigation that encompasses the applicant's employment and criminal history.

Job responsibilities will include:
- Reviews supervision conditions with the client, along with monitoring compliance with ordered conditions, establishing a reporting schedule, and referring to community support agencies when needed.
- Performs electronic monitoring equipment installations and daily monitoring.
- Establishes an understanding of various electronic monitoring devices and reporting used in offender management.
- Meets with clients regularly to verify compliance with court ordered activities and program expectations.
- Navigates through different criminal justice and case management databases.
- Communicates regularly with clients, court officials, victims, and other criminal justice agencies as it pertains to effective case management.
- Provides reports to the court regarding program compliance.
- Testifies in court as needed.
- May require evening, overnight and/or weekend hours.
- Any one position may not include all of the duties and or requirements listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Excellent writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with difficult populations
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Corrections, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, or related field.
- Experience: One (1) years’ experience in case management or counseling/outreach in areas such as pretrial, probation, electronic monitoring, communications, counselling, or other human service agencies.
- Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high-school education. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
