Position Information
As a Customer Service Representative I, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Providing government services to the public in a pleasant, helpful and courteous manner.
- Processing driver licenses and state identifications, designated motor vehicle transactions, and permits.
- Operating a cash register and other office equipment.
- Providing information on and process the entire range of motor vehicle registrations, titling transactions and designated driver licensing functions (driver license renewals in accordance with all motor vehicle and driver licensing laws, ordinances, rules, regulations and policies).
- Providing information on and process additional City transactions, including bicycle licenses, real property tax, disabled parking permits and license plates, HOLO card passes and other permits, passes or certificates as directed.
- Assuring a thorough understanding of all laws, ordinances, rules and regulations, etc., affecting the services provided.
- "Floating" to various driver licensing centers or satellite city halls as needed to provide staffing assistance.
- Receiving, reviewing, and processing sensitive information and data records in a highly accurate and secure manner.
- Performing other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One year of clerical experience, which shall have included some customer service or public contact experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required.
