The Department of Facility Maintenance, Chief Engineer's Office, and the Department of Environmental Services, Office of Administrative Support, are each hiring for a Personnel Clerk I position that will be located at Kapolei Hale. These positions are responsible for performing the full range of personnel clerical functions, personnel transactions, payroll time and attendance functions, reviewing and processing EUTF medical applications, and other personnel support duties requiring the interpretation and application of personnel rules, laws, procedures, policies, etc.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three (3) years of clerical experience, one of which shall have involved work relating to personnel activities.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of various types of personnel transactions and procedures for processing thereof, and methods for keeping personnel records; office practices and procedures; use of standard office equipment; and the ability to understand and interpret laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and pertinent provisions of various bargaining unit agreements; and deal tactfully with employees and the public.
Substitution: Business school or college-level credits from a regionally-accredited college or university will substitute on a year-for-year basis for up to two of the required three years of general clerical experience. There is NO substitution for the one year of experience in personnel related activities.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
