The Department of Customer Services is hiring for one (1) Supervising Driver License Examiner I position located at the Pearl City Commercial Driver License (CDL) Office. This position is responsible for the supervision of the CDL program, supervising the driver license activities of the commercial driver license examiners and clerks located at the commercial driver license stations.
As a Supervising Driver License Examiner I, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Establishing performance standards and reviews and evaluates the performance of subordinates
- Preparing and directing the training of subordinates and clerical staff, and establishes training requirements and programs
- Interpreting and recommending changes to laws, policies and rules and regulations affecting the section’s responsibilities and activities.
- Evaluating, developing, recommending and initiating changes in policies, tests and procedures to improve operations and to comply with statutory changes;
- Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of supervisory, driver training instructional, regulatory or related experience, including or supplemented by one year of experience in testing applicants for driver licenses for heavy or commercial vehicles.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
At the time of application:
Possession of a valid commercial driver's license Category A (CDL A) with all endorsements.
