As an intern with the Water Systems Planning Branch, you will help with the planning and engineering activities needed for developing and designing water system improvements on Oahu. With the oversight of an engineer, intern duties include:
Engineering Student Interns will be able to work up to 19 hours per week while school is in session, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. Work schedules are flexible and will be tailored to meet the student's class/exam schedule.
Upon satisfactory completion of the internship program and attainment of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, the intern will be eligible to be converted to a full-time Civil Engineer I (EN-18 - $4,339/month).

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent; Completion of three years of a civil engineering curriculum at a regionally-accredited college or university that offers a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Current enrollmentin a four-year Civil Engineering degree-granting program at a regionally-accredited college or university on a full-time basis; At least a 2.0 overall scholastic average on a 4.0 scale; and Completion of 90 college-level credits to include:

- Assisting in the collection of field pressure and flow data,
- Visiting various BWS facilities,
- Learning to analyze water consumption and demand, and
- Working with computerized hydraulic models that assist with evaluating BWS water systems,
