The Department of Design and Construction, Land Division, is looking for an Engineering Technician V to serve as Chief of Party to a survey crew assigned to perform all of the necessary field survey work involved in boundary, original land title and construction surveys.
As a Engineering Technician V, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Establishing or reestablishing boundaries and the staking of property corners, rights-of way for roads, drains and sewer easements, park, police, fire, and housing sites.
- Topographic, contour, profile and cross section surveys for civil suits, corporation yards, park sites, highways, drains, sewers and other miscellaneous engineering projects.
- Keeps survey notes or reviews the keeping of field survey notes and sketches.
- Responsible for the safety, performance, development and training of the field survey crew.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school with courses in mathematics. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Five years of experience in field surveying.
Substitution: Completion of a two-year engineering technician program at a technical school or community college, or two years of college civil engineering curriculum may be substituted for one year of the required experience in field surveying.
