The Department of Enterprise Services , Building Services Division, is hiring for a Mechanical Repairer to maintain, repair, overhaul, test, and operate various mechanical and other equipment in support of the Blaisdell Center and Waikiki Shell in Honolulu.
Special Working Conditions: Position involves working in confined spaces for extended periods of time; working at heights, interior and exterior, up to 30 feet; and may be assigned to work odd hours, nights, and weekends.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Experience Requirement
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey level skills and duties of this position.
Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used in repairing mechanical equipment; and the functions and operating principles of a wide variety of mechanical equipment, including electric motors, gasoline and diesel engines. Such experience must also have demonstrated the ability to: recognize defects in mechanical equipment and take corrective action; and use and maintain hand and power tools used in the mechanical trades.
Examples of Qualifying Experience: automotive mechanic, heavy vehicle/fleet mechanic, generator mechanic, marine engine mechanic, small engine mechanic, utility mechanic, similar experience repairing and maintaining 2 and 4 cycle engines.
License Requirement
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required. The current vacancy requires a valid automobile/Type 3 driver's license, prior to appointment.
