Education Requirement
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with major work in city planning, sociology, business or public administration or a related field.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. Substitution: A Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university may be substituted for the required one year of professional work experience in research or analytical experience in social, economic or community development programs.

- Assisting professional planners to process simple applications involving state land use district boundary amendments, special use permits, zone changes and public infrastructure map amendments;
- Independently performing technical research and analytical work in the evaluation of simple and moderately complex projects;
- Preparing exhibits, maps, tables and other graphic displays to support presentations to the Planning Commission, City Council, and for workshops and other informational sharing meetings.
