Job Description

PHILOSOPHY OF POSITION
An Assistant Manager at City Brew plays a key role in serving without compromise. They are responsible for role modeling a “customer comes first” attitude and leading by example. They are expected to supervise team members with integrity, honesty, commitment, and awareness. Assistant Managers strengthen the operations and customer service at their location by way of aiding the Store Manager in delivering a great guest experience.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assistant Managers are responsible for working scheduled shifts, while assisting the Store Manager with the daily planning, management, and leadership of a City Brew retail location. They are expected to communicate information, to fellow leaders and management, in a timely and effective manner. This position requires that the Assistant Manager maintains a higher level working knowledge of store processes, operations, procedures, products, and customer service.

Promote and develop the culture and vision of City Brew within the location. Lead store personnel by example through modeling a “customer comes first” attitude and presence. Work during high capacity business hours with confidence and a calm exterior, modeling expectations for team members. Utilize resources provided by Store Managers, District Managers, and the Support Office to, as appropriate, maintain inventory levels and address maintenance issues. Review and understand operational reports to identify trends in sales, inventory, and cash management. Elicit customer feedback, listen and respond, and effectively address customer concerns. Communicate with management ideas, concerns, and recommendations for improvement on overall operations, including development and training of Shift Leaders and Baristas.
Demonstrate and oversee the delivery of excellent guest service and product quality. Work with management to ensure strict control of cash generated, including audits of all cash sources on a regular basis. Maintain exceptional standards and cleanliness of all buildings, parking areas, and landscaping associated with the location. Work with management to maintain internal inventory systems properly balancing desired inventory levels with a fully stocked location and a minimum number of shortages. Work with management to monitor the compliance of all City Brew policies, programs, and procedures within the location. Stay up-to-date on all company training materials and initiatives by interacting with the company’s learning management software (LMS).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Willingness to learn, grow, and be trained in excellent customer service and beverage production skills. Receptive to constructive criticism and identification of areas to improve. Strong ability to multi-task and general knowledge of computer and connectivity systems. Interest and enjoyment of coffee and coffee-related products. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with Store Managers, employees, and the general public. Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE City Brew welcomes motivated, positive, experienced, customer service-focused individuals for this position. This position requires training and experience relevant to a leadership position; and demonstrated willingness to be trained, coached, learn, and execute job responsibilities, duties, and expectations communicated by Store Managers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to maintain substantial amounts of time on feet, maintain physical endurance through entire scheduled shifts, and lift and carry various supplies and equipment.
