City Brew’s Roasting Division has a challenging opportunity for a Production Manager ready to team up with people who have a passion for manufacturing the finest roasted coffee and coffee products. Candidate must be a roll-up your sleeves, self-starter who is committed to ensuring consistent, high quality product manufacturing. This position leads, supervises and coordinates all employees and activity on the production floor while ensuring quality controls and standard operating procedures are followed. The Production Manager communicates all orders from the office to the production team ensuring outgoing orders are filled efficiently, accurately, and on time. An ability to understand food packaging and implement efficient packaging procedures is required. The position should have strong mechanical skills, enjoy packaging/roasting operations, believe in preventative maintenance, and have an understanding of the importance of food safety.
In this role, the Production Manager will report directly to the division director and closely coordinate with support, sales, marketing and management as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Uphold compliance to food safety, USDA, FDA, GMPs, HACCP, QC, and OSHA requirements
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws
- Lead the effort to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Plan, schedule, and manage the production and shipment of outgoing orders
- Ensure all orders are completed and filled accurately by the requested date
- Ensure employees demonstrate good work habits
- Motivate, manage, and train staff
- Write original procedures and maintain accuracy of existing procedures
- Perform light mechanical repairs to keep equipment running
- Order packaging supplies & raw materials
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed
- Audit programs and procedures
- Provide continuous updates and recommendations to senior management
- Physically produce product when necessary to ensure the team meets deadlines
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in manufacturing or similar environments
- Experience leading a team
- Strong history in training and people management
- Strong verbal, written and analytical skills
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Mechanical skills

- Ability to maintaining a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Ability to operate as a hands-on Manager

- Knowledge of Lean, Good Manufacturing Practices, and FDA guidelines
- 2 years in a supervisory management role required
- Candidates MUST HAVE proficient computer skills and experience working in Microsoft Office
- Experience working with ERP/Production Management systems preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Continually required to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment
- Position requires performing duties in a combination of office, manufacturing, and warehouse environments
- Working outside normal business hours is required when necessary to adequately satisfy job responsibilities
