Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the quality standards for raw and packs, the manufacturing process, finished goods and holds management are maintained on their respective shift by sampling, monitoring and auditing each of these areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Make quick decisions regarding pre/post process assessments and responds to quality issues such as filing problems, commodity and packaging material problems.
- Enters packaging/commodity complaints and holds into the vendor assurance database.
- Responds and makes Quality (non-food safety) decisions.
- Enters material and finished product holds into QA Notify e-mails
- Responsible for performing hold assessments and inventory checks
- Create and conduct training in all areas of quality to associates
- Performs in plant sampling, testing, and auditing on shift
- Provides quality troubleshooting expertise and support to Supervisors and Managers across the site
- Collects samples for materials analysis and the evaluation of holds
- Steward of protecting the integrity of the HACCP program
- Participates on Continuous Improvement Teams
- Subject matter expert for site on quality standards during off shifts
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for product sterilization and good manufacturing practices
- Follow all GMP and food safety rules including ones specific to the job.
- Responsible for monitoring quality and food safety control points and make corrective actions to the process if needed.
- Know and understand the site’s CCP’s and report any findings of deficiencies to the quality and packaging manager.
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience in a high-speed packaging environment preferred
- Computer skills required (Microsoft suite)
- Experience with WMS or M2K software
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Beverage or food manufacturing experience a plus.
- Knowledge or GMP’s and food safety
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift certification a plus
- Must be willing to work all shifts, and weekends when necessary to cover the needs of the business
