Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in brunch cooking techniques, including a variety of egg preparations (scrambled, poached, over-easy, etc.) and achieving proper meat temperatures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout service, ensuring readiness for each shift.
- Assist with prep work, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the kitchen team to ensure orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
- Contribute creative ideas and feedback on daily specials, seasonal updates, and new menu items, fostering a collaborative kitchen environment.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage.
- Monitor food quality and consistency, making adjustments as needed to maintain high standards.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking, labeling, and rotating ingredients to minimize waste.
- Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in executing special event menus, including pre-fixe dinners and wine pairings.
- Participate in cleaning and organizing the kitchen at the end of each shift, including equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
- Previous experience as a Line Cook in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, with familiarity in brunch service.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques, including egg preparation and meat temperature control.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset and a willingness to provide input.
- High standards for personal appearance and presentation, consistent with an open-kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
