Job Summary:
City Cellars is looking for friendly and organized Hosts/Hostesses to be the first point of contact for our guests. As a Host/Hostess, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and setting the tone for the guest experience. You’ll manage reservations, greet guests warmly, and coordinate seating to ensure efficient service. With our brunch bistro concept, we’re looking for individuals who can handle a busy environment with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing a positive first impression of City Cellars.
- Manage the flow of guests, coordinating with servers and the bar team to ensure an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.
- Handle reservations and waitlists using our reservation system, accurately quoting wait times and seating guests promptly.
- Maintain knowledge of the brunch bistro menu and daily specials, offering information to guests as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams to keep service running smoothly, especially during peak hours.
- Assist with table setup, clearing, and resetting as needed to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
- Handle guest inquiries, takeout orders, and special requests with professionalism and a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Provide a friendly and welcoming experience for guests waiting for a table, offering updates on wait times and beverage recommendations from the bar.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with food handling and service standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess in a high-volume restaurant preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of reservation systems and basic POS skills are a plus.
- A positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and busy brunch shifts.
