Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the physical integrity and upkeep of the community’s apartments, buildings, mechanical systems, and grounds. The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring a comfortable and safe living environment for residents, visitors and staff. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing and documenting work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Apartment turnover - including inspecting and repairing apartments for future residents. Repairs include, but not limited to lighting, door and window repair, carpentry, flooring, appliance repair, basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair, locks change and re-keying
- Complete work orders in a timely manner
- Assist in maintaining a clean and appealing exterior and common area maintenance needs. As well as seasonal outdoor maintenance (i.e. snow removal)
- Assist with jobs at sister properties in the Lehigh Valley.
- Other duties and assigned and required
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to interact with co-workers, supervisors, guests and public in a professional and pleasant manner
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage. (required)
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC
- Familiarity with safety features or equipment, machinery, or materials encompassed by job duties
- Detail-oriented
