Construction Superintendent
City Choice Homes is a unique homebuilding and development group focused on providing Houston home buyers distinctive residences and lasting value. City Choice consists of two divisions: urban & city living and land development
This person will run the day-to-day operations of various construction sites and control and maintain the construction schedule.
The Construction Superintendent responsibilities include:
- Understand the company products
- Meet objectives and make sure the projects are built on schedule, within budget, & to all company and local codes.
- Coordinate activities and communicate with vendors and subcontractors as needed
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, material control, subcontractor coordination etc.)
- Complete daily reports, quality reports, accident reports, etc. as required
- Create and oversee punch lists and ensure completion of all related work prior to inspections
- Provide technical assistance (i.e., interpret drawings, recommend construction methods and equipment, etc.)
- Effectively direct and supervise field construction activities
- Be responsible for productivity of subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project.
- Fluently read and interpret specifications and plans
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to seek the best outcome
- Have knowledge and an understanding of construction guidelines
- Ensure that all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements and work rules
- Documents all violations, recommend, and implement corrective actions and notify the Construction Manager
- Perform functions efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision
Skills & Abilities
- Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Experience: At least 2-5 years of construction experience in residential, industrial, or commercial
- Work Environment: 80/20% field-office
- Computer Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook
- Personal Skills: Strong organization, verbal and writing skills, ability to prioritize, ability to work within a deadline driven environment, problem solving ability, detail-oriented, be a people person, English required – Spanish is a plus; Must respect and maintain confidentiality of
- Other requirements: Driver’s license and a good driving record is required. Some weekend hours may be necessary. Field conditions will vary and will include typical construction conditions, e.g., work outdoors, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, wet conditions. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
