What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Secretary position at City Elizabeth- Office of Youth?
The SOAR Program exists to impact youth Kindergarten-8th Grade in our program to excel academically, be challenged to grow mentally and be exposed to activities/games recreationally. We do this through a three-hour program Monday-Friday with a pool of 100 students that we have the privilege to mentor and nurture as a team so that the students can achieve more than they thought possible. We have many different classes and roles in our team with the same goal of being a special environment to expose the students of our future to something that will be great for them. Expectations:
-Ability to be a quick learner
-Supervise 1-4 students at a time when necessary
-Ability to create and maintain reports and systems that will keep our program running smoothly
- Assist our main secretary in office with paperwork and any other projects that need to be accomplished while adhering to City of Elizabeth guidelines
- Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Office experience with strong organizational and time management skills
- Customer service experience with excellent communication skills
- Administrative experience demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy
- Phone etiquette and ability to handle multi-line phone systems
- Typing skills with a high level of accuracy
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
