Full Time Teller/Member Services Representative job description

Objectives of this role
- Serve members by managing documents, information, and financial transactions in an organized, efficient, and secure manner
- Build awareness of new products and services, and identify customer needs to capitalize on the business referral opportunities
- Meet and exceed credit union service standards, greeting and acknowledging each member to make them feel welcome, while complying with credit union procedures and security protocols
- Work with other tellers as a team to complete daily tasks while demonstrating respect and professionalism, being prompt, and supporting management as needed
Responsibilities
- Handle transactions for members, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cashier’s checks, and opening and closing of accounts
- Identify member needs, provide information on new products and services, and direct members to branch representatives as needed
- Reconcile teller drawers at the end of your shift, count and package coins and currency, turn in any excess or damaged currency to head teller
- Track, record, report, and store transactional information and special requests
- Provide a high level of member service, offering answers and assistance with a smile
Required skills and qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and computer skills
- Cash-handling experience
- Excellent communication, member-service, and time-management skills
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
- Bi-lingual
- Skills for upselling and recommending products
