Job Summary:
The Employee Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of company employees to and from designated locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a professional attitude. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the shuttle vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Transportation: Transport employees between company facilities, parking lots, and other designated locations following a predetermined schedule and route.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Report any issues or needed repairs to the Transportation Supervisor.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations, as well as company policies regarding vehicle operation.
Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to all employees, assisting with boarding and disembarking as needed.
Time Management: Maintain punctuality to ensure employees are transported according to the schedule. Communicate any delays or changes in schedule to the appropriate personnel.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information as required by the company.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including vehicle breakdowns or accidents, following company protocols.
Cleanliness: Ensure the shuttle is clean and presentable at all times, including regular interior and exterior cleaning.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience as a professional driver, preferably in a shuttle or bus driving role.
Licensing: Valid Iowa Driver’s License
Driving Record: Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
Skills:
Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety.
Strong time management and punctuality.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to operate GPS and other navigation tools.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role within a corporate or large facility environment.
Familiarity with the local area and traffic patterns.
Basic mechanical knowledge to address minor vehicle issues.
Working Conditions:
Environment: Driving in various weather conditions and traffic patterns.
Hours: Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

SHUTTLE DRIVER
Physical Job Functions:
- Drive truck to accounts (30-50 stops per day);
- Unload clean laundry from truck into account’s location (use 2-wheel cart provided whenever possible);
- Sort, collect and gather soiled uniforms, linens, mats, etc.;
- Load dirty laundry onto truck;
- Load truck with clean laundry for the next day’s route:
-Pull cart full of clean laundry to truck;
-Unload clean laundry from cart into truck;
-Push uniforms from rail system to rail closest to truck;
-Load hanging uniforms onto racks inside truck;
Critical Physical Demands:
Sitting:
Frequently, in truck to drive to accounts and up to one hour to complete paperwork.
Walking:
Continuously, to load and unload truck and go to accounts and to perform other
essential job functions. Distance varies.
Bending:
Continuously, to sort, count, load and unload laundry from the truck and at various
stops. UP to 90 degrees flexion.
Trunk Rotation:
Continuously, to load, unload, sort, retrieve, and carry laundry.
Squatting/Crouching:
Frequently, to pick up, sort, retrieve and place laundry in bags.
Climbing:
Frequently, up and down steps in and out of some accounts and in and out of
laundry truck.
Reaching out/up:
Frequently, to load, unload and hang laundry up to arms length and 70 inches from
the floor.
Grasping/Pinching/Wrist Turning:
Continuously, to handle laundry, door handles, mats, hangers, bags, pen and paper,
and to drive. Power and precision grasp.
Finger Manipulation:
Frequently, to write and untie/tie cords on bags.
Pushing/Pulling:
Frequently, up to 10 pounds of force to open and close truck doors, move clothes
along rail system, bring laundry carts to truck.
Lifting/Carrying:
Continuously, up to 60 pounds to load and unload truck, take items to and from
accounts – lifting from floor to 70 inches. Distance varies.
Use of Feet:
Frequently, to operate brake and gas pedals on truck and walking throughout the
day to and from truck to make deliveries and inside accounts to deliver product.
