Senior Electrical Engineer-Power Systems
Location : Greenwood Village, CO - Hybrid Work Schedule
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an experienced, motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with a PE license to join our engineering team at our Denver location. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen.
CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm in Denver with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Design sub-transmission systems, substations, switching stations, and complex commercial / industrial power distribution systems.
- Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis, and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for substations and distribution systems.
- Develop / review complex electrical system models and validate various system study findings / recommendations.
- Develop electrical specifications for major electrical apparatus.
- Create system model for large-scale power system in ETAP. Perform various power system analysis / studies.
- Develop bill of material and technical specifications.
- Schedule and attend field walk-downs to determine project requirements.
- Perform field take-offs / evaluations for estimate preparation.
- Participate in estimate review process as needed.
- Update and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical distribution systems.
- Perform site surveys for major upgrade projects and develop concept design,
- Prepare cost estimates for large-scale electric distribution and substation projects.
- Keep up to date with utility industry standards and codes. Enforce and maintain all applicable standards and codes for our O&M, replacement / renewable and new installations.
- Will assist site construction personnel throughout the project life cycle.
- Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading scenarios. Assist site crew with implementing corrective actions.
- Project management duties : Prepare construction schedules; submit RFI to clients; act as POC for facilitating design review process and addressing open items as requested by client.
- Update and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical distribution systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance in support of their career development.

Salary : $130,000 - $175,000
