Summary
City Market, Onion River Co-op is seeking an Assistant Evening Operations Manager who is responsible for overseeing the evening operations of the store. This includes ensuring that all City Market employees provide excellent customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, achieving positive operating results & objectives for labor/sales goals, promoting City Market Onion River Co-op, and supporting department financial objectives.
This position is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to our Members, customers, vendors, co-workers, and community and maintaining the highest standard of personal conduct and excellence. This position functions as Manager on Duty as needed to support employees, respond to emergencies, and resolve customer concerns. This position supervises employees and is responsible for coaching, development, performance evaluation, corrective action, and hiring employees, in accordance with Co-op policies and sound business practice.

Day-to-Day Duties
Oversee retail operations during evening hours at City Market.- Make critical decisions that impact employees, merchandise quality, and customer service.
- Foster strong relationships with both employees and members, promote a positive store culture, and ensure that store conditions meet high standards of appearance, security, safety, and food safety.
- Be accountable for the control of company assets and the overall performance of the store during evening shifts.
- Ensure store conditions involving appearance, security, safety, and food safety are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Foster a customer-focused culture.
- Treat all employees with fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Manage performance of evening associates.
- Understand and resolve inventory shrink issues.
- Maintain strong communications with the management team and employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3 years of retail management experience.- Minimum of 3 years management experience including but not limited to: hiring, training, evaluating, coaching and developing staff.
- Minimum 3 years experience developing and implementing budgets and adhering to labor cost requirements.
- Experience managing employees required.
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other communication systems.
- Ability to speak and understand English language, read and comprehend complex instructions, as well as product and pricing information.
- Public speaking, presentation, and customer service skills are essential.
This position will be required to work at other City Market locations for coverage or to attend required meetings, trainings, etc. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
