Developer
PURPOSE : To assist Executive Director with all aspects of grant writing, fundraising, and Community Housing Development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB DUTIES : The following duties are
considered essential to the job. Qualified applicants must have the ability to perform the following duties.
- Take the lead with grant preparation, research, data collection, for development of funds for City Mission-Living Stones, Inc. These include grant proposals to HUD, HAP, ESG, PATH, PA HOME, PHFA, FHLB, as well as foundations and local sources.
- Work with Executive Director and other community partners on special projects including and especially the development of rental housing and / or special needs housing.
- Work with attorney through zoning issues, land use development issues, etc.; present proposed projects at zoning hearings, planning commission meetings as necessary.
- Work with development team including architect, contractor, property manager, and outside agencies to ensure compliance with individual program regulations.
- Assist with endowment support.
- Help facilitate and coordinate agency capital campaigns in consult with Executive Director.
- Solicit large gifts from foundations, individuals, businesses to support City Mission.
- Prepare reports for grant close-outs.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS-JOB DUTIES : The following duties are considered secondary to the essential functions listed above.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Specific Education, Certification, and / or Licensure :
BA in English or Communications, OR successful completion of a one-year certification in Grant Writing AND proven track record of successful grant-writing, Experience with housing development, detail oriented, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
Other specific requirements
Good computer skills knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Typing, 50 WPM. Knowledge of general office equipment including copier, fax machine, adding machine, telephone equipment, etc.
At least two years proven grant-writing experience and experience with capital campaigns.
Five years proven grant-writing experience.
