Job Summary:
This position provides excellent service to Mission’s Thrift Store customers and helps maintain the store’s appearance and efficient operations.
Essential Job Functions and Tasks:
- Greet customers and assist in a manner representative of the Mission and its values.
- Train in the warehouse as receiver for donations from donors
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Operate cash register to cash-out customer purchases and bag purchases while providing excellent customer service.
- Introduce promotions and opportunities to customers as well as cross-selling products to increase sales.
- Responsible for achieving personal sale and task goals.
- Receive incoming merchandise, sort, price and tag product in the warehouse.
- Maintain the front counter area, this includes: consistent music playing, cleaning the counter, straightening items on and behind the counter, and returning unwanted items to their area.
- Maintain the store including stocking shelves, re-hanging items, keeping the dressing rooms empty of discarded selections, returning merchandise to their proper area and creating displays.
- Periodically purge or markdown dated merchandise and distribute new items to their proper location.
- Function as a team with your co-workers to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction as well as overall sales and team growth goals.
- Represent the organization to all clients, volunteers and fellow co-workers in a Christ like manner that serves as an example of Christian behavior.
