MANAGER CREDIT RISK ANALYTICS
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position is responsible for the development, program support and implementation of quantitative models and reporting related to credit risk in Consumer, Retail and Residential portfolios and products in the Second Line of Defense. Develops and maintains the database and behavior models for Consumer and Retail credit products and will integrate external data relevant to the Bank's loan portfolio. Play a key role in developing productive and effective relaitionships within the First Line of Defense (1LOD) partners in the KRI, KPI and KRD development process including review and effective challenge. Conduct migration analyses and track portfolio performance of Consumer and Retail product segments and leverage this insight to assist with the development of Consumer and Retail borrower of credit risk models. This position participates in the development and use of idiosyncratic and regulatory stress scenarios to support stress testing and economic capital calculations.
Important aspect of this position is not only developing the analytics, but also assisting the SVP of Consumer and Retail Credit Risk designing ways to integrate periodic reporting, portfolio analysis and behavioral data and trends into day to day risk management and oversight of business decisions.
This position will need to understand the Consumer and Retail banking business, and be able to deliver tools, reporting and parameters in accordance to desired specifications. This position is responsible for the designing, implementing, and maintaining quantitative and analytical tools for Consumer, Retail and Residential credit risk using data driven statistical and historical methodologies, interpreting findings through timely and accurate reporting, identifying solutions to optimize risk/return equation and developing presentations to senior management.

What you will do
- Program Management:
- Manage workflow and assigned priorities for Consumer and Residential Consumer 2LOD Credit Risk Program.
- Provide technical guidance and review the work of less experienced colleagues.
- Monitor performance of Consumer and Residential portfolio products, train, coach, counsel and provide general direction and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Maintain committment to knowledge sharing and holistic team development to increase technical expertise and bench strength across GRM credit teams.
- Database Management:
- Design databases for maintaining borrower/product level information to be used in various modeling and reporting exercises.
- Create algorithms to maintain and update internal behavior modeling dashboard while streamlining processes of mapping rating migration, charge-offs and recoveries.
- Coordinate with 2LOD teams to improve data quality and lineage for Regulatory Modeling purposes (i.e. Finance, reporting, issues management).
- Quantitative Risk Modeling:
- Design Consumner and Residential credit risk behavioral models and reporting.
- Support ongoing transformation work or idiosyncratic analysis of Bank's product offerings.
- Design and develop tools combining credit, economic capital, stress testing and profitability models to be used in concentration management, portfolio allocation, and strategic planning.
- Assist SVP of Consumer and Residential Risk with design, development and implementation of regulatory compliant data driven 2LOD Credit Risk program
- Execute ad hock analysis and reporting requests to support business decisions and changes in credit policy
- General Risk Management Improvements:
- Keep abreast of industry best practice standards for credit risk measurement and regulatory expectations.
- Assist in benchmarking historical performance, utilization rates, and forecasted behaviors of of consumer and retail products to equivalent macroeconomic trends.
- Assist in transformation and program development initiatives.
- Support ad-hoc Line of business requests for historical data analysis, risk appetite, and quantitative reporting for consumer and retail portfolios.
Must-Have*
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a 2LOD risk quantitative position preferred.
- 5 years technical experience obtaining information from disparate sources, including production and ad hoc systems, linking and analyzing the information, performing data integrity checks and exploratory data analysis required
- 5 years of experience with reporting software required, Stata, R, Matlab, SQL and Tableau.
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience managing data analytics for Consumet and Retail portfolios.
- Degree in statistics/finance/economics or other quantitative field
- Experience in statistical/econometric modeling and database management
- Database and reporting experience, SQL, VBA, and Business Objects
- Knowledge of retail lending products (specifically for consumer lending)
- Five years of experience in quantitative analysis, preferably in the financial services industry with an emphasis in the area of risk management 2LOD.
- Strong background and practical experience in 2LOD roles with emphsis and understanding of roles and responsibilities as outlined in 12CFR 30 Appendix D-Heightened standards.
- Experience in macroeconomic forecasting, credit risk forecasting and incorporating macroeconomic variables in credit risk behavioral models and reporting
- Ability to build strong relationships with peers, line of business managers and colleagues across the Bank
Compensation
Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
