Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing assistance in the administration of the department's information systems.
Position Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists in the installation, troubleshooting, updating, replacement, and maintenance of Police Department, Detention Center, and Court Services technology, including desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, wireless access, firewalls, access control, jail access controls, cameras, phone systems, etc.
- Assists with managing the Police Department, Detention Center, and Court Services software.
- Assists with tracking and maintaining inventory records for all technology systems, including hardware and software.
- Assists with scheduling and managing technology updates, maintains, repairs, and installations.
- Assist with maintaining and issuing access control cards.
- Assists with security camera footage playback software.
- Overtly displays a positive attitude that sincerely supports and encourages the betterment of the City of Acworth, the citizenry, city officials, supervision, counterparts, and subordinates.
- Creates and edits images and videos for internal and external usage.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, assisting other city departments outside of the police department when necessary.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Police Systems Administrator assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of activities.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include city ordinances, CJIS policies and procedures, and city and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
