The City of Aiken is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department in the Parks Division.
Examples of Duties
- Keeping City properties clean, safe, and attractive
- Maintaining park grounds and playground equipment
- Maintaining athletic fields and recreation facilities
- Setting up and breaking down facilities for rentals and events
- Operating a variety of light equipment
- General cleaning, dealing effectively with the public, and other related duties
Work hours are variable and may require evening and weekend scheduling. Manual labor and heavy lifting are required.

Full-time employees participate in the Defined Contribution 401(a) Retirement Plan. After one year of employment, the employee will begin contributing 6% to the Plan, with the City making a matching 6% contribution. Employees are fully vested after 5 years of service.
