Definition
The Akron Municipal Clerk of Courts is seeking applications for a full-time Human Resources position. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for payroll, time-keeping, onboarding new employees and off-boarding departing employees for a staff of 40 -plus employees plus other duties as assigned. Ensure accurate and timely weekly processing of payroll for all employees utilizing the Workday platform. Maintain the Time Clock Plus platform, helping employees to fix missed punches and ensuring it is up to date. Serve as the point of contact for employee concerns, benefit and payroll questions, Workday, and policies and procedures. Facilitate the hiring process: job posting, conducting interviews, and onboarding. Oversee the performance review process to ensure they are completed fairly and timely. Implement training programs and support employees with training needs. Assist the Law Department with unemployment claims. Manage time off and leave requests. Maintain employee records.
The Akron Municipal Clerk of Courts is a 24/7 operation. The office has the standard first, second, and third shifts in addition to swing shifts.

Minimum Qualifications
The ideal applicant will have excellent attention to detail, superior organization skills, and the ability to communicate and work well with others in a diverse, fast-paced environment. Applicants must be comfortable engaging with the public and be able to learn and retain complex information quickly. Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, is required. Previous experience in human resources roles, management experience, and experience in the public sector are desired. Prior experience working in the court system or legal industry is preferred but not required. College degree is required as is fluency in the English language. Candidates must possess honesty and integrity of the highest standard and be able to maintain confidentiality in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.

Starting pay is $31.73 per hour with salary advancement potential contingent upon a candidate’s related skills, knowledge, and abilities. This position pays into the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
