Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wastewater Operator to join our team.
JOB SUMMARY: Routing work in the operation of wastewater treatment plant equipment and facilities on an assigned shift. Must work on assigned holidays. Standby on emergency situations. Will be “on call” basis.
ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS: Maintenance of the wastewater collection system, repair and replace sewer lines and maintain a lift stations; maintain the city sewer treatment facility to meet state regulations.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs light to strenuous manual labor. Use of tools, equipment, test material, and chemicals. Must be able to operate backhoe, tractors, and shredding equipment. Must assist other departments in need of assistance.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Heavy lifting, reading of gauges, meters, and general mechanical work. May be required to work in all types of weather – cold, hot, dry, and or wet conditions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES: High school diploma/GED, Texasdriver’s license _ Class A/B preferred, wastewater plant operator “C” certification.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE ANDSKILL: Mechanic experience. Experience in wastewater operations is preferred.
