*** Target start dates: May 19 - 23, 2025 ***Under general supervision, performs daily work assignments for the Recreation Center Division of the Parks and Recreation Department in accordance with the Employee Manual, Department Policies and Procedures, City of Alamogordo Ordinances, and any applicable State or Federal authority.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Required: Must be at least 18 years of age;Sufficient education to perform essential duties and understand and follow oral and written instructions;One (1) year of cashiering experience;Experience in a high-volume customer service-related position;Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Desired: Clerical and/or data entry experience.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Most work will be performed indoors with heavy customer contact;The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud;Must be able to see well enough to read computer monitors and documents; hear well enough to receive information in person and over the telephone; speak well enough to be understood when transmitting information in person and over the telephone; hand and finger dexterity sufficient to grasp documents and operate office and other required equipment;Lift and/or move items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; the lifting of any object greater than fifty (50) pounds by a single individual is prohibited. Lifting objects, materials, or equipment weighing more than fifty (50) pounds requires the buddy system or the use of devices designed to assist with lifting or moving. Proper lifting techniques shall be used when lifting items of any weight;Risk of physical injury and exposure to varying outdoor conditions while participating in youth activities, if applicable;Required to wear activity-appropriate attire and close-toed footwear while participating in youth activities, if applicable; andMay be exposed to hazardous chemicals, contaminants, and pathogens.
