What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Pro Shop Supervisor position at City of Albany and Dougherty County, GA?
The Position
The purpose of this classification is to perform supervisory and customer service work involved in the daily operations of the Golf Pro Shop.
Duties
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, training and orienting new employees, directing work, counseling, recommending discipline, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Responds to customer questions, need for service, and/or complaints; provides information, resolves conflicts, and/or directs to appropriate personnel.
Sells Golf Pro Shop merchandise; maintains daily inventory records of supplies and concessions; orders and stocks concessions, supplies and merchandise as needed.
Collects green fees, dues, and banquet room rental fees; secures daily operating cash; rents out range balls; summarizes cash receipts; makes daily deposits.
Reviews and maintains a variety of reports, records, schedules, invoices, and related materials; files, computes, distributes, and/or submits to appropriate personnel.
Prepares a variety of reports, memos, forms, invoices, billing statements, and related materials; maintains files and/or distributes to appropriate personnel.
Hosts and directs regional golf tournaments and special events.
Orients and trains new employees.
Attends staff and committee meetings.
Prepares and serves hot food, drinks, and snacks for snack bar operations.
Cleans pro shop, maintains driving range

Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by 5 to 11 months previous experience and/or training involving golf course or related retail experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
