Recreation AssistantPool Manager (18 years of age or older)
Supervise daily operations of the Aquatic Center. Schedule and supervise lifeguards and pool attendants, facilitate in-service training, light maintenance, cleaning, opening/closing duties, handle monies.
- Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification preferred
- Ensure all staff rules, regulations and safety practices are properly enforced
- Possess a thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance
- Assist guest and participants as needed, including administering basic First Aid and lifeguarding skills as needed
- Inspect facilities and equipment on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage staff and patrons
- Available to work days, evenings & weekends - 30 to 45 hours a week
Lifeguards (15 years of age or older)
Supervise and safeguard pool patrons using the Aquatic Center, light maintenance and cleaning. Swimming lessons instructors.
- Must hold or obtain Red Cross Lifeguard certification
- Possess a thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance
- Familiar with emergency procedures. Recognize and maintain a high level of readiness to respond to emergency situations
- Assist guests and participants as needed
- Available to work days, evenings & weekends
Pool/Deck Attendants (16 years of age or older)
Customer service, cashier duties, answer phone calls, cleaning, assist with swim lessons.

Play Park Leaders (16 years of age or older)
Plan activities and supervise school-age children at local park buildings. Chaperone trips, set up and staff events throughout the year. Open/closing duties, light cleaning.

- Effectively monitor the behavior of participants to maintain order and safety
- Provide a safe, fun and learning environment for all participants
- Must be available to work play park schedule and other events as scheduled
- Must be available to work days, evenings & weekends - between 30-40 hours per week
The Recreation Assistant is responsible for following the direction of the Recreation Coordinator
in the execution of day-to-day operations of recreation programs for community members.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver's License.
- Enforce and uphold the City of Albert Lea policies and procedures.
- Assist with supervision and training of summer seasonal staff and volunteers.
- Must enjoy working with children.
- Must be available to work play park hours and other events as scheduled.
- Complete records and reports.
- Plan and manage activities and programs.
- Assemble the necessary activity supplies.
- Assist with setting up and operating special events.
- Assist participants during events.
- Ensure the safety of participants.
- Set up arts and crafts activities.
- Maintain supply inventory at neighborhood park buildings.
- Available to work days, evenings & weekends
