Position Summary
Plan, direct, manage and oversee activities for the Aviation Department strategic planning and programming and other highly complex technical and administrative tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. Evaluate and develop standards, policy and procedures within programmatic areas and specialized Aviation programs for the Director of Aviation. Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies and stakeholders. Provide highly responsible administrative support to the Aviation Department Director and Deputy Directors.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or a related business degree preferred; and
Eight (8) years of experience in city, state, and federal government processes relating to airports is preferred; and
To Include five (5) years of supervisory experience is preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
May work evening meetings and occasional weekend hours.
Must be able to successfully qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card as determined by the criteria set forth by the policies and guidelines of the Aviation Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Successful completion of a security background check conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, if applicable. Must successfully pass FBI criminal history background check including fingerprinting.
