Position Summary
Install, maintain, modify and repair high and low-voltage single and multi-phase transmission, distribution, lighting, communication, control and alarm systems, fixtures and components in City-owned buildings, facilities and grounds; troubleshoot problems in electrical systems and components and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
High school diploma or GED; and
Five (5) years electrical experience at the journey level.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Possession of a valid New Mexico Residential and Commercial Electrical (EE-98J) Journeyman license.
Preferred Knowledge
- Principles, practices and theories of electricity
- Installation and maintenance of electrical systems, telemetry cables, circuitry, generators and related materials
- Methods and techniques of troubleshooting electrical system malfunctions
- Methods and techniques of maintaining, installing and repairing electrical systems and equipment
- Techniques of troubleshooting large motor, circuit breakers, panels and a variety of other electrical equipment failures
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations
