Position Summary
Operate a variety of light equipment used at golf courses; perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and perform a range of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
High school diploma or GED; and
Two (2) years of experience performing general grounds maintenance work involving the operation of light maintenance equipment and hand tools.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Evenings and / or weekend work may be required.
Preferred Knowledge
- Operation and maintenance requirements of a variety of light equipment and hand tools
- Practices, methods and materials used in grounds maintenance and general maintenance work
- Principles and practices of tree, plant and turf care including proper fertilization techniques
- Principles and procedures of spraying herbicide and fungicide
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in equipment operations
- Turf management and / or Agronomy techniques in a Golf Course setting
