The Overview

This role serves as the Payroll Manager for the Alexandria Fire Department (AFD), overseeing all tasks related to the City’s bi-weekly payroll processing. • Processes leave, pay adjustments, and other necessary updates to payroll records.
  • Updates employee profiles, schedules, and assignments in both department and City payroll systems.
  • Works with AFD staff and supervisors to address payroll and leave issues.
  • Previous experience with local government budgeting processes is preferred; strong background in payroll processing is essential.
