An Overview
The City of Alexandria Human Resources Department is seeking a highly engaged, self-directed Wellbeing Program & Engagement Manager. The Wellbeing Program & Engagement Manager works on the Employee Benefits team within the City's Human Resources Department and is responsible for designing and implementing workplace wellness programs that promote physical, mental, emotional, social, financial, environmental and intellectual wellbeing. The Wellbeing Program & Engagement Manager reports to the Benefits Manager.
The OpportunityDevelop and deliver training programs and workshops on stress management, mindfulness, and other wellness topics.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to employee well-being
Maintain accurate records of EAP services provided and evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis
Report on program outcomes and metrics to organizational leadership, demonstrating the value and impact of wellness initiatives.
Develop and implement strategies to increase employee morale and retention.
Conduct surveys and gather feedback to understand employee satisfaction levels.
Collaborate with other departments to create initiatives and programs that promote employee engagement.
Creating and maintaining spreadsheets and presentations.
Analyze trends and adjust engagement strategies as necessary.
Coordinate programs including wellness initiatives, team-building events, recognition and rewards programs, planning onsite wellness events, surveys, and communication strategies.
Analyze employee benefit plan claims data and initiate appropriate action to sustain desired wellness program performance.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and external vendors to enhance program offerings and resources.
Develop, manage, and monitor the wellness program budget.

Four-Year College Degree; five years of progressively-responsible human resources experience with a concentration in compensation and classification in the public sector, employee relations, or training; five years experience in Federal, State and City laws, ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to human resource management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public health, health and physical education or a health-related field, including or supplemented by courses relating to health, physical fitness, nutrition, and/or corporate wellness.
- Certifications in health coaching or wellness program management are a plus.
- Knowledge and experience working with employee benefit plans
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are critical
- It's important to be creative, adaptable, and passionate about improving the employee’s experience
- Strong project management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of workplace wellness best practices
- Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to analyze data and assess program effectiveness.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups
Salary : $65,853 - $115,885
