Camp Counselors will be responsible for the supervision and activities of approximately 10-12 children ages 6-12 in an outdoor and indoor nature environment. Counselor will plan and carry out such activities as hiking, arts and crafts, sports, drama, swimming, and field trips. - Essential Functions

- Instruction of arts and crafts, games, nature education and other outdoor related activities.
- Act as a role model; provide first aid; ensure the safety of children and complete necessary forms and reports.
- Plan and coordinate activities with the Day Camp Director; assistance in other parks and recreation programs as needed, including the Allen USA Celebration.

- Job Requirements
Education & Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:- High School diploma or equivalent with no prior relevant work experience.
Certification and Other Requirements- CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain by May 28th (training provided).
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
Work Schedule- Must be available for work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. between May 20th through August 9th.
Overall Physical Strength Demands- Light - Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

- Reading
Basic - Ability to recognize meaning of common two- or three-syllable words. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Math
Basic - Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.
Writing
Basic - Ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school.
