Pay Range: $15.00 per hour
Department: Department of Parks & Recreation
Bureau: Recreation
GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides information, goods and services through admission and concession sales at City of Allentown aquatic/concession facilities.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager, Assistant Aquatics Manager, Pool Manager, and Head Cashier.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
" Handles all money and sales products including calculating admission fees, receiving payment by cash, check or credit, issuing change, receipts and credits.
" Responsible for keeping track of concession inventory, attendance records and cash reports.
" Follow opening and closing procedures which includes counting money in cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure correct amounts and adequate change for the day and all money is accounted for.
" Maintain proper money handling policies and procedures.
" Notifies Pool Manager and/or Head Cashier when money / supplies / inventory are low and need to be replenished.
" Assists in the setup of the concession stand prior to opening and assists with food prep.
" Takes patron orders, assembles order, and cashes out the transaction.
" Keeps an accurate daily count of wristband distribution and products sold.
" Checks bags of patrons entering the pool.
" Complete assigned tasks which may include but not limited to sweeping, bathroom cleaning, sanitation of equipment and emptying trash.
" Enforces all facility policies.
" Monitors entrance concessions areas of all patrons.
" Maintains order and cleanliness in the counter area.
" Provides quality and effective customer service with courtesy and understanding to our customers, citizens and internal departments.
" Maintains presences at workstation, except with permission, or to react to an emergency.
" Awareness of pool's emergency action plan (EAP).
" Awareness and application of proper food handling policies.
" Reports problems or issues to management as soon as they arise.
" Performs related work as may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
A. High school education preferred.
B. Experience preferred.
C. Minimum of 15 years of age.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A. Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
B. Ability to exercise tact and good judgment in maintaining good customer service relations.
C. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the community, and to effectively interpret the objectives of the recreation program to participants and the community group.
D. Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level.
