Position Title: Finance Clerk Department: Finance
Essential Functions:
Accounts Receivable
- Collects, counts, and verifies all incoming monies from Front Desk clerks’ daily transactions.
- Reviews and posts daily cash collections reports.
- Posts daily collections of property tax and other deposits.
- Reviews web-banking transactions on a daily basis.
- Reconciles monthly report/posting of property tax collection.
- Prepares journal entries and spreadsheets as needed.
- Maintains receivables files and records on all transactions.
Accounts Payable
- Performs data entry into the A/P system to process vendors’ payment.
- Ensures the accuracy of vendor payment information and documentation.
- Reconciles vendors’ monthly statements.
- Maintains vendor’s files.
Other Functions
- Manages the purchase of office, janitorial, and general supplies.
- Maintains the department petty cash fund.
- Controls expenses paid with credit card and encumbered balances.
- Produces various reports and performs other duties as required.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with a minimum of two to three (2-3) years of work experience in accounting. Preferred Associates Degree in accounting.
- Skill in operating basic office equipment.
- Skill in operating a personal computer and software including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.27 - $16.40 per hour
