SUMMARY
The City of Amarillo is seeking exceptionally organized, enthusiastic, and keenly observant leaders for the position of Quality Control Supervisor in support of our current and future TNI (formerly NELAC) Accredited Laboratory operations. Persons applying for this position will be responsible for daily supervision of staff maintaining the numerous standardized documents that are essential to performance of traceable and reproducible laboratory records. This person will support teamwork through essential and effective communication and training in the essential functions of laboratory quality control safely in a laboratory environment. This person will support the community and public health through the organized, detailed, and meticulous review of laboratory operations and development of new methods of laboratory analysis.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC)
Oversees the Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs for the currently TNI Accredited laboratory.
Operates as the TNI accreditation required Quality Manager who shall have defined responsibility and authority for ensuring that the management system related to quality is implemented and followed at all times.
Models' professionalism in behavior related to the integrity and ethical operational standards of laboratory evaluation for excellent data.
Assist in the development and implementation of LIMS system.
M I NIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in one of the Physical Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of laboratory or QA / QC experience. Alternatively, a Master's Degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience may be considered. Must work to become TNI certified through TNI Basic Assessors Training. Valid Texas Driver's License required.

Must be able to work in a laboratory setting where observation and workplace safety are considered priority.
