What are the responsibilities and job description for the DELI ATTENDANT position at City of Amarillo?
STARTING PAY: $11.00/hr
SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Golf Operations Superintendent provides prompt, efficient and courteous service displaying salesmanship and friendly hospitality while preparing, dispensing and serving menu items including alcoholic beverages to the customers.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides premier customer service, including greeting and responding to customer questions.
- Dynamically sells product by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions to include alcoholic beverages.
- Manage cash register and monetary transactions correctly.
- Performs opening and closing duties as outlined by supervisor.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness and organization of all service, stockroom, and eating areas.
- Stock coolers with food and beverages on a daily basis.
- Maintains a high standard for product freshness and sanitation.
- Organize inventory and make recommendations for product purchases.
- Verifies the age of customers when selling alcohol to ensure the customer is of legal age.
- Successfully pass all legal requirements for food and/or alcohol handling.
- At all times, are presentable, well-groomed and in appropriate attire.
- Performs all work according to established procedures to include all local food establishment guidelines to ensure that all inspections meet or exceed requirements.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to properly handle money, give change and record multiple transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Present a positive, professional image with ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
- Must be flexible in meeting the varying scheduling needs and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. Flexible availability including days, weekends and holidays.
- Reliable attendance and proven dependability.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, be friendly and personable.
- Ability to work well with others as a team member.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret, understand, follow instructions and solve problems.
- Equivalent Work Experience preferred.
- Food preparation experience helpful but not required.
- Ability to learn POS system.
