Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
We are looking for a Generalist who can handle a wide range of responsibilities throughout the life cycle of our employees by:
- Recruiting
- Interviewing
- Extending job offers
- Onboarding and new hire orientation
- Education on workplace practices
- Serving as a primary contact for designated departments
- Reviewing compensation requests and making recommendations
- Administering Civil Service and promotional exams
- Investigations into employee concerns
- Exit interviews and other duties
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; two (2) years professional experience working in Human Resources; professional human resources certification preferred.
The City may consider all related education and/or experience in determining an applicant's minimum qualifications and starting salary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primary work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. May be required to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, as necessary. The employee works in a dynamic environment that requires being sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs. After hour work is required to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
