Position Purpose: The City of Amesbury’s Summer Preschool Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Tadpole Preschool program for ages 3-5. Duties include planning a daily schedule, providing a variety of activities at camp to go along with weekly themes, and staff management.

- Ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety procedures at all times.
- Deliver a fun and exciting program for campers each week.
- Create a weekly/daily creative activities schedule that applies to the theme of each week. Lead small groups on field trips aligning with themes such as the police station, fire station, library etc.
- Supervise counselors in implementation of camp activities.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly stored at the end of each day.
- Submit payroll on a biweekly basis.
- Be responsible for interviewing, training, and scheduling counselors in training.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of youth development.
- Ability to manage large groups in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate and provide necessary instruction to camp staff.
- Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt on the fly in difficult situations such as inclement weather.
- Should be creative.
Hours of Work:Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 1:15pm or 8:45am- 3:15pm with extended hours
Dates of employment: June 23- June 26, July 7 – August 15, 2025
Salary:$20-$25 per hour
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 4.5 per week
