The City of Ankeny has a need for individuals who are interested in helping maintain the 124-acre sports complex fields and grounds.
Position will begin March 2025 and ends November 30, 2025. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Athletic Field Maintenance (9 months) - $18.00/hour; No benefits.
Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday

- Field Maintenance: Aeration, fertilization, sodding, seeding, construction and irrigation repair. Painting and chalking fields.
- Mowing soccer, baseball, softball, and football fields.
- Setting up fields for tournaments.
- Working softball and baseball tournaments.
- Event clean-up, changing garbage cans, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver's license.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Works in field environment
- Periodically requires weekend, holiday and evening hours.
- Performs outside work in all kinds of weather conditions.
- Operates equipment having varying degrees of noise and vibration
- Must be insurable.
- Must be sighted.
- Must be able to hear normal conversation.
- Must be able to speak clearly at normal rate of conversation.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, stoop, walk and climb stairs.
- Must be able to work in wet or dry trenches.
- Must be able to move up and down ladders and walk over uneven terrain.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 pounds and carries for short distances.
- Must keep regular and reliable attendance at work.
