This position work in the City Manager's Office and be responsible for providing direct support to internal and external customers in a variety of City of Anna departments.
This program was advised by the City of Anna Neighbor Engagement and Inclusion Advisory Commission as part of youth in government/youth employment efforts and will be part of the International City/County Management Association's Bob Turner Scholarship program, focused on promoting local government professions to youth as a future career option. As part of this program, the intern may participate in cohort calls and a short project with others virtually during the summer.

Must be enrolled in High School or equivalent or be a recent graduate.
Must be a resident of the City of Anna.
Must be between the ages of 16 and 21 years of age. Must be 16 by start of position.
Must be able to successfully complete the pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of City of Anna policies and procedures.
Skill in performing mathematical and statistical calculations with accuracy.
Skill at the high school level, in reading, writing, speaking, and interpersonal communications, including principles of English and grammar usage.
Skill at the basic level, working with Microsoft Office 365, and other software systems to complete work.
Skill in providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Skill in active listening; giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points communicated, and asking questions as appropriate.
Skill in using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and in written forms, and listen intently to other points of view.

- Research a variety of youth and civic engagement related programs from other cities and prepare written summaries and recommendations for staff.
- Participate in discussion, development, and revision of ongoing youth and civic engagement programs
- Assist with development and preparation of special projects and events.
- Perform office duties including but not limited to, answering phone calls, greeting neighbors and visitors, filing, answering questions, appropriately directing and providing general information to internal and external customers, and completing paperwork.
- Assisting with stocking supplies, preparing materials, setting up for meetings, and other daily operations of the Municipal Complex.
- Reviewing presentation materials.
- Coordinating meetings, taking minutes., preparing memorandums.
- Assisting with data entry and records retention.

Salary : $14 - $16
