Volunteers are integral to the operations of the Apache Junction Police Department, providing essential support across various functions. Auxiliary Patrol Functions:

Commitment: A minimum of one year of service is required, with a commitment of at least 16 hours per month. Exceptions for fewer hours may be considered based on department needs and the volunteer's residency status.
Days of Work Week: Monday through Thursday
Hours: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
To participate in these volunteer opportunities, individuals must meet the following criteria:

- Assist with fleet maintenance
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
- Ability to operate an auxiliary marked patrol vehicle
- Ability to communicate clearly through police radios
- Ability to take direction and adhere to chain of command during field operations
- Possess valid driver’s license
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written
